Welcome dear art fans (or hopefully future art fans): My name is Chantal (Chanty) Mertens and I am really happy that you have found your way onto my „Art by Chanty“ page. Apparently, my marketing skills (M.A. Business Management) have worked so far. 😉
In 2020, I have finally started to live my second biggest passion: Abstract art. Although I had advanced arts in school and always loved painting, it apparently took me some time to make art an integral part of my life again.
There’s almost nothing better than turning a blank canvas into a unique piece of art (which, funnily enough, is still interpreted by everyone differently). My best ideas come up in the flow of creation. The most exciting moment is always the first brush stroke, the second one the enthusiastic face of the piece’s buyer …
